I don’t often do Newborn in-home lifestyle sessions, but when I do…they are the BEST! David and I got to know Justin and Meghan through our church a couple years ago. Over the past year or so, we have had dinner with them a few times, and they are people that we look up to so much. They have two of the sweetest boys, and are just people who seem to do life and family the right way!
When I heard Meghan was pregnant, I was so excited for them! While boys are awesome and so much fun, I was thrilled to hear that they would be having a little girl. There’s just something so adorable about the myriad of bows, floral swaddles, and cuteness that comes with having little girls. I also know she will be well protected and cared for with two big brothers!
I was overjoyed when Meghan asked me to capture photos of their new little girl Carolyn (Cara). Over the past two years, I have worked part-time as a newborn photographer in the maternity units at local hospitals. It’s safe to say I have seen my fair share of adorable babies and parents swooning over their beautiful new child, but getting to capture Cara’s newborns in the sweetness of their own home was something far more special. It was so fun to see how Meghan designed Cara’s nursery. She made the wall hanging above Cara’s crib herself, and chose the sweetest details to add to the walls. My favorite, however, had to be the, “Party in my Crib, 2 AM, BYOB,” sign given to Meghan by her father!
Spending time capturing their sweet family last Monday was such a joy. I especially loved seeing how sweet their boys were with Cara. Thank you, Justin and Meghan, for inviting me into this moment with your family and letting me capture these early moments of Cara’s life. I can’t wait to see her grow up with such an amazing family!
